Trystan Finocchiaro is set to make his first world stage appearance this week in Germany, for the ninth round of the World Superbike Championship at the Lausitzring.
After a successful test with Bierreti Racing at Adria International Raceway, the Italian team took a lot of interest in his talent.
The 18-year-old equalled the team’s best ever lap around the circuit, despite it being his first ever experience with their Yamaha R3, first ever visit to the circuit and first ever time working with the team.
Team manager Franco Brunetti has given the rider the chance to race the rest of the 2017 World Supersport 300 series.
Bigger picture
Finocchiaro’s intends to race a full season in the World Championship for the 2018 season.
“I’m excited to debut on the world stage, and I feel motivated to bring home some results,” he said.
However, looking at the bigger picture, he explained that he would be using these initial four races to learn and prepare for the next season, where he plans to take the World Championship by storm.
Trystan thanked Transmec Group, Kerax HyperDrive, Absolute Coatings, Interlink Direct, VF Foods, MRCUK, RMT Motorcycle Training and of course Bierreti Racing for the opportunity.
