Sykes Pickavant’s popular HGV ball joint separator is currently available with a free hydraulic upgrade adaptor.

A Sykes-Pickavant spokesperson said: “The 08070000 HGV ball joint separator from Sykes-Pickavant is the professional way to quickly separate ball joints from suspension components without damaging rubber boots.

“The innovative scissor action allows use where access is restricted whilst the need for excessive hammering is considerably reduced.

“The powerful lever action breaks loose even the most stubborn joints by providing an extremely high force transfer through the integrated mechanical thrust bolt.

“The strong, heavy duty body with strengthened fork and level allows for greater force to be applied and provides the option for use with a hydraulic ram.”

The latest promotional brochure from Sykes-Pickavant features a special offer on the HGV ball joint separator available as part number 080700SP, which comes with a free hydraulic upgrade adaptor for users with an existing 1500 or 1800 series ram.

The spokesperson added: “The high quality and solid construction of the product are geared for it to be used as a hydraulic tool and easily allow the extra force to be applied.

“For those who haven’t currently got the 1500 or 1800, part number 080750V2 can be used which includes the hydraulic upgrade adaptor and 180000V2 1 tonne hydraulic ram which can achieve up to four tonnes of force prior to application.

“With a capacity of 36mm, the 08070000 is best suited for HGV, agricultural and construction vehicles.

“Possible applications include Volvo, RVI, Scania and Mercedes.”
