As well as measuring nitrogen oxide (NOx) gases, the analyser detects hydrocarbons, oxygen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide which are displayed in real time to provide insight into the true engine running condition.
The analyser is built using components to allow the user to ‘see beyond the diesel smoke’ for real emission gas analysis, helping to identify issues such as blocked EGR valves and worn fuel injectors.
A spokesperson said: “The new diesel and petrol gas analyser is an exciting release for Sykes-Pickavant, as the only affordable and effective way to check for NOx currently on the market.”
“The versatility of this product sets it apart from market competitors, the dual-power operation allows the analyser to be used in workshop with 240v mains electricity operation and on a mobile basis with the optional 12v adaptor,” continued the spokesperson.
“Car, light commercial vehicle, truck, bus and diesel engines can all be analysed with this product allowing for testing to be carried out on a static vehicle or whilst running a drive-cycle to provide real dynamic gas emission measurement in either situation.”
The analyser will be showcasing at Autoinform Live on 25 and 26 November at the GTG Training academy in Wolverhampton, providing the public with the chance to see the innovative new product for themselves.
