Approved Garages has released safe driving tips and tricks in a bid to help road safety improve across the UK.

Driving safely is an important aspect of every day life, and in today’s world of mobiles, sat navs and Bluetooth connections it is now easier than every for us to take our eyes off the road.

The safety tips released by Approved Garages range from obvious tips such as not checking your phone when driving and not trying to reach for items that may have fallen on to the floor, to making sure you’re driving defensively.

For example, expecting other drivers to be driving badly meaning you’ll be aware of them, keeping a two or three second gap between yourself and the motorist in front.

In wet or icy conditions the time and distance should be doubled.

The advise extends to what to do in various situations, such as in the event of an accident, what to do if you’re pulled over by the police and making sure that your MOT and services are booked in on time.
