GW Views highlights 4-1-1 MOT plans plus DVSA training and assessment
The latest issue of GW Views, GW's quarterly digital magazine, is available to read for free.

The independent aftermarket is showing fierce opposition against government plans to extend the period before the first MOT test is needed from three to four years.

However, a recent GW poll suggests that 40 per cent of independent garages are unaware that the consultation is currently open and that the government is calling on both industry professionals and the public to respond to its official survey.

The latest issue of GW Views features everything you need to know about the proposals along with key arguments and how you can make your views heard before the consultation closes on 16 April, 2017.

Sticking with MOT-related April deadlines, time is running out for MOT managers and testers to complete the DVSA’s newly enforced MOT training and assessments.

The aim is to raise standards across the board but some of those who have already completed their assessments have expressed some serious concerns, as we reveal on page 17.

Elsewhere in GW Views we visit the TMD Friction manufacturing facility to speak to the experts about the dangers of counterfeit brake pads.

We also test out the BG Products DPF and emissions system service in a GWTV video feature and GW readers try out the Mini-Ductor Venom induction heater and Winntec turbo-lift trolley jack in reader reviews.
