Roy Hubbarb Motors in Market Harborough is to hold the latest of its ‘ladies’ nights’ on Wednesday May 18 and hopes to attract around 30 women.

All proceeds from the sale of refreshments will be given to Breast Cancer Research and a raffle on the night will also raise funds for the charity.

Graham Packer of Roy Hubbard Motors said: “There is definitely a need for this kind of basic training.

“Last time we ran it we were amazed at the diversity of ladies turning up.

“There were 17-year-old girls who had just passed their tests and had been told to come by their parents, and 80-year-olds who had been driving for decades.

“That shows how important these skills are.

“I always say, what if that puncture happens at night in the middle of nowhere?

“Even if you have a breakdown service, what if your phone can’t get a signal or has run out of battery, or the breakdown people are likely to take an hour to get to you?”
