Adam Elliott, 26, drove a Ford Ka through Newcastle while sitting on the headrest and steering with his knees, with his head above the windscreen.
Judge Robert Adams at the Newcastle Crown Court sentenced the driver to a nine month jail term and fined him £100 plus £1,500 prosecution costs, according to the Daily Mail.
The judge told him to “grow up,” while his barrister called the incident “an act of complete buffoonery.”
The Daily Mail reported that, “Elliott has 69 previous convictions, including 13 offences of driving while disqualified, 18 of driving without insurance, thefts, dangerous driving and fraud.”
Having lost his driving privileges for two years, he has also lost his car sales business and gone on to be a tyre dealer.
