Thomas the Tank Engine car travels for charity
The car will overcome a series of organised obstacles on the way to Benidorm.

A group of four in the northeast have built the car to partake in the 2,000 mile Benidorm Banger road trip challenge.

So far, James Ritchie, Graeme Smith, Graham Cowie and Allan Taylor have gained over £2,000 in financial support to benefit a spina bifida charity.

The Thomas inspiration came from James’s two-year-old son, who has spina bifida and considers Thomas a favourite.

According to the Evening Express, the group earned £1,300 worth of donations by packing bags at a supermarket.

Going by the name the ‘Bloo Toon Loons’, the men will start the challenge on May 1.
