The national motor factor has announced Jason Bavin as the new Tools and Equipment Technical Specialist

Tools specialist joins GSF to drive van sales
GSF advises garages to look out for the Sealey tool van whilst John Wright (head of garage equipment for GSF) says that adding further vans in 2016 is ‘very much a possibility’.

Jason Bavin has joined GSF Car Parts as the new tools and equipment technical specialist to support the companies fast-growing van sales.

GSF introduced their automotive Sealey tool van – the first in the UK – in January, and say the reception since has been ‘superb’.

The van provides a fully fitted mobile viewing and demonstration facility for over 500 of Sealey’s best-selling lines, as well as built-in heating and a TV for video demonstrations.

John Wright, head of garage equipment and customer development at GSF, said: “With lots of branches requesting the van, high value products that need professional demonstrations, not to mention potential to add more vans, we saw the need for a full-time specialist right away, so we’re delighted to welcome Jason.”

Jason has worked for Sykes Pickavant, Alba and Laser Tools and his intention is to group the van’s stock more closely around four key areas of braking, suspension, service and specialist tooling.

He said: “My job is to help branch staff identify the specific opportunities on individual garage visits and then help propose solutions.”

Jason says whilst communicating product features and benefits will always be important, it’s the time savings and return on investment that typically persuade garages to make new investment.

He said: “When we’re out on visits then yes, of course it’s about selling there and then but it’s also about training and informing the GSF team to sell this equipment more confidently after we’ve left.”
