Competition announces the top technicians following the semi-finals at Paragon Skills in Bournemouth

This year’s competition has seen some high-quality technicians taking part.

Ten semi-finalists were charged with undertaking a series of daunting practical challenges arranged by the judges.

The highest scoring five will now go through to the final at the RMI Academy of Skills on September 30th.

Project manager, Ian Gillgrass said: “I still can’t believe the knowledge and skills of technicians in our industry.

“The top ten for the practical semi-final competition tasks were selected using the various online tests from several hundred competitors, the calibre of technician never seems to disappoint when we get to the practical tasks, all were excellent and very difficult to separate.

“The technicians were set a series of five tasks ranging from a vehicle inspection through to solving a fault with a ‘fire engine’.

“Well done to all those technicians who have entered the competition and congratulations to the five that who have progressed to the finals.”

The winner of Top Technician 2016 will be announced at Top Technician Live, a full day training event on 14th October at GTG in Wolverhampton.
