Newburgh Motors in Aberdeenshire had a shock this week after discovering a live rabbit under the bonnet of a Vauxhall Corsa.
It’s not clear how it got in there – but it was safe and is now hanging out with the mechanic’s dog Cooper.
Dave Gordon, 27, spotted the bunny after a customer had dropped the car off for its MOT.
He said: “I looked behind the grill while checking it over and saw a flash.
“The rabbit was twitching and moving but it was OK.
“It had travelled about ten miles from the women’s home so it would be pretty windswept as well.”
Dave took the rabbit to the vet to have it checked over and a scan for a microchip found nothing.
He added: “The vet said they hadn’t seen anything like it before.
“We don’t know if it’s wild or domestic but it seems happy enough to be petted and stuff.
“Our dog [Cooper] wasn’t quite sure what to think when he first came across the rabbit, but my girlfriend’s looking after it at home.
“I think she’s secretly hoping we don’t find anyone to take it.”
