A man narrowly escaped death when his Ferrari 430 Scuderia came off road in wet conditions and fell 50 metres down a bank before erupting into flames.
The driver, who amazingly managed to walk away with minor cuts and bruises, had reportedly only had the car an hour before it was reduced to a smoking wreck.
In a post of Facebook, South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers were deployed to a single vehicle collision with reports that the vehicle had left the carriageway and burst in to flames.
“Officers asked the driver what sort of car he ‘had’ to which he replied “It was a Ferrari”.
“Detecting a sense of damaged pride he then said “I’ve only just got it, picked it up an hour ago”.
South Yorkshire Police were quick to attribute the cause of the collision to the wet conditions and used the opportunity as a cautionary tale: “Over the past couple of weeks there has been a number of collisions where driving styles have not reflected the road & weather conditions. Please take more care!”

Should all these high performance car companies offer mandatory driving lessons to make sure their customers can handle the performance and driving style?
This story is not typical of some of the stories surrounding these types of cars that end up either written off or very badly damaged.
This guy is lucky to survive!
