The Motor trade was already on its knees what with Ultra low emissions, people leasing new cars, the price of parts making cars not cost effective to fix & lets be also frank people do not want to spend money on cars full stop.
The decision for a extension to the MOT in 6 months will mean that there will be garages going out of business & a lot of MOT testers out of work. The authorities have not thought this through properly. If they are relying on people to maintain there cars they are deluded ,the fact is, it is only when the car comes in for MOT that issues are highlighted .They are trusting people to keep on top of there car ,like they are trusting people to stay home . Its a Joke. The days of service & MOT have been over along time ago. The minister of transport , DVSA etc need to rethink this ASAP
