Garages will change almost beyond recognition over the next 30 years according to industry experts. A CGI mock-up vision for the garage of the future
[See the full post at: Industry experts create vision for future of garage industry in bid to attract new talent]Derek SmithGuestWhere do they pluck these figures of “30 years time” from?? Its not worth worrying about anyway because according to the “eco protesters” we will have destroyed the planet by then (strangely that was also predicted to be 30 years time!! And you never know we might have decided what to do about Brexit by then and “project fear” has turned us into a third world country with horse and carts!!
ITs ALL PIE IN THE SKY!!!DougalGuestThese fairy tale pictures all show clean and smartly dressed staff standing around having a chat.
A more likely outcome is that no workshop staff will be required.
As a bid to attract new talent it is a non starter, should this turn out to be the shape of the future the fate of those in the trade will similar to that of draughtsmen (remember them?) in the 1970’s.Tim HubbardGuestTotally do not agree the trade has always been a low paid proffesion and a different environment would not double the trades wages or attract a higher calibre of young staff.BP will put you through colledge from 18 and a 30k wage packet and that is in the North.Hope Iam wrong.
Jo GibbonsGuestIf this is what the garage industry will look like in 30 years time there will be very few garages running. How are garages funding all this mega technology?
I’m not sure how this futuristic (sorry unrealistic) view of garages ‘future’ is going to attract new technicians into the trade. If this is the answer we still have a problem. -
