    About 20 years ago I had a succession of what were even then elderly Range Rovers. They would go through just about anything! The secret was that the carburettors, air intake and distributor were right on top of the engine so about level with the bottom of the windscreen. Oh the door seals let in floods of water so I wouldn’t say it was comfortable but they kept going!
    The big problem with so many vehicles today is putting the air intakes low down. If they suck in water that’s game over.
