The RAC has announced that it is to use smartphone video call technology to enable its technical advisers to see problems faced by stranded motorists [See the full post at: RAC to use video call service to help fix faults remotely]
This is also obviously aimed at saving the cost of a Patrol being sent out. It can be useful though as simple faults can be rectified over the phone. It’s not a new idea, but one that’s being taken a step further with smartphone technology.
