Reading on this forum, about the Q7 driver who parked outside an Audi Dealership because of a warranty claim on his Sister-in-Law’s car struck a cord with me.My Son brought a brand new VW Polo from VW last year in November in under six months and 6000 miles the gearbox failed causing the differential housing to break from the inside out, leaving oil and alloy fragments all across the road and undertray.
VW have insisted that this part is not covered by warranty and because their dealer says it is not, then that is it. The dealer quoted £2955.84 for the work, because my Son used an independent garage to do the repair, Barclays Finance have even tried to wriggle out of their consumer credit joint liability.
If we as independent garage owners acted towards our customers in this way, trading standards would be all over us.
