The new Tony Jennings Classic Car Rally, created in memory of the former Chairman of the Fellowship of the Motor Industry (FMI), will take place on August 4th at BEN’s Town Thorns Care Centre near Rugby,
Classic car owners are warmly invited to support the event which is also open to the public. If you are interested in putting your own classic or vintage car on display please contact BEN’s Peter Cottle on 07970 516305.
Peter Cottle said: “A ‘classic’ car could be from any era so if you are proud of your E-Type Jaguar, VW Golf GTI Mk 1, Lotus Elan, Ferrari 250GT then we would love to see it on August 4th. Entry for exhibitors is totally free of charge.”
Prior to retirement Mr Jennings was a Senior Director with the Rover Group when the company was owned by BMW. He was also a ceaseless fund raiser for BEN. His widow Julie will be attending the rally in honour of the tribute being paid to her late husband.
Town Thorns is located on the outskirts of Easenhall, near Rugby where all cars will be on display from 11.30am until 4.00pm. The additional attraction of stalls, lunches, cream teas and a cash bar will make for a great family day out, especially with an entry fee of only £2 per person (free for under 16’s). Proceeds from the day will go to support Town Thorns itself, a BEN care centre for people who have worked in the motor industry.
