The DVSA has stated that it will test some vehicles which are being used to support the Covid-19 response.

Vehicles are to be tested include out-of-service MOT vehicles or trailers being returned to service and the approval of specialist vehicles, including ambulances and fire service vehicles.

The announcement was made to clarify an earlier decision to suspend heavy goods vehicle (HGV), trailer and public service vehicle (PSV) testing for up to three months.

A DVSA spokesperson said: “As you are aware, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve taken the decision to suspend HGV, trailer and PSV testing for up to three months.

“However, there are some instances where we’ll be testing vehicles which are being used to support the Covid-19 response.”
