The DVSA has confirmed that its MOT slot payment service is now back up and running after a “technical issue” saw a service outage on Thursday August 8.
The service went down at 3pm yesterday and remained out-of-service until 7.30am this morning (Friday August 9).
Test sites were told to continue using their existing slot balance and to test as normal where possible yesterday, after the agency confirmed a problem with the service.
Sites that had a balance of zero were advised to use contingency code ‘427692D1’ to carry out contingency testing.
In an email to test sites this morning, the DVSA said: “Yesterday, we told you the MOT slot payment service was unavailable due to a technical issue.
“The situation has now been resolved and you can continue buying slots as normal.
“Thank you for your patience.”
The DVSA’s MOT testing service desk can be contact on 0330 123 5654 and is open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays.
The DVSA has not yet reveled the exact cause of the yesterday’s problem.
