Completely training and assessment as early as possible, IGA advises

Current 2021/22 MOT annual training year passes halfway point

The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has reminded MOT testing stations that there’s now less than six months left of the 2021/22 MOT annual training year.

Testers that fail to complete the mandatory training and assessment before 31 March, 2022, will be suspended from testing.

This year’s assessment pass mark remains at 80 per cent, but due to the wide scope of this year’s syllabus the IGA advises testers to complete their training and assessment as early as they can to accommodate potential assessment retakes.

An IGA spokesperson said: “As the UK’s largest provider of MOT training, the RMI Academy of Automotive Skills is here for your annual training needs with a variety of packages to ensure that all testers can confidently complete their requirements before the deadline.

“Our packages range from face-to-face training at your garage premises or an RMI Academy venue, to complete remote learning either online or in a physical workbook.

“All options include access to the online assessment included in their cost, unless specified.”
