The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has announced that for the remainder of the year, DVSA will be attending its Member Events to provide an update on MOT Modernisation and other issues affecting MOT garages.
The events, usually for IGA members will now be open to all MOT stations to assist the DVSA in engaging with the trade. The MOT Modernisation Project is building a new ‘web-based’ system to go live by September 2015. It will modernise and simplify MOT processes and policies in order to improve road safety and test quality.
“The new system allows testers to use portable devices to enter results while they examine vehicles in the test bay,” said Trade Engagement Manager Ian Marsh. “It will offer the MOT trade greater flexibility and choice in how it decides to test.”
IGA Director Stuart James said: “We are delighted to be able to work with the DVSA to help its engagement programme with garages and we look forward to meeting many more garages at our events throughout the remainder of the year”.
