The deadline for 2020/21 MOT annual training has been extended to April 30, 2021, the DVSA has confirmed.
It now leaves five months remaining for MOT testers to complete and log their mandatory annual training and assessment.
Testers will face suspension by the DVSA if they do not complete their mandatory requirements by this date.
A spokesperson for the Independent Garage Association (IGA) said: “With this year’s assessment pass mark being increased to 80 per cent, testers may need further preparation and time to complete their assessment successfully.
“As the experts in this field who work closely with the DVSA, the RMI can thoroughly support your testers to ensure they have access to a method of training.”
