A car burst into flames yesterday outside a primary school in Rochdale as children left for the day.
It’s not yet known what caused the fire.
Fire crews were called to Lowerplace Primary School just before 3pm on Thursday afternoon.
Photos from the scene show flames erupting from the BMW, just yards from backpack-wearing youngsters who had been leaving Lowerplace Primary School when it happened.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 2.54pm to Kingsway in Rochdale to reports that a car, a BMW, was on fire on a footpath.
“We sent one crew from Rochdale to the scene who used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out the fire.”
