A Burnley mechanic has been issued with a fine for driving a BMW that was “clearly not in a suitable condition”.
In a Facebook post, Lancashire Police Tac Ops said the driver “saw no problems with driving his vehicle around town to his workshop”.
He was fined for having no front number plate and excessively tinted front windows, the latter of which he was made to rectify at the roadside.
From the post, it looks like the driver questioned whether this was a good use of police time…
CHEAP SKATE GARAGE
HELLO – WELL – WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE FINE FOR MECHANIC – HE IS NOT THE VEHICLE OWNER – GRANTED TRADE PLATES OR THE ACTUAL REG PLATE SHOULD BE AT LEAST ON DISPLAY – COULD HAVE CAUTIONED HIM AT WORST – SO HATE TO THINK THEY WERE JUST TICKING THEIR BOXES AS USUAL – FEEL SORRY FOR THE MECHANIC REALLY – JUST TRYING TO EARN A CRUST
