Audi has issued a recall covering 31 of the first e-trons in the UK.
The German carmaker has confirmed that its all-electric e-tron SUV has been recalled with a “small number of e-trons that have been delivered to customers” in the UK affected.
Audi has said the recall concerns an “issue” with a component within the charging system of the car.
Its been reported that the fault carries a minor chance of fire during a recharge cycle, but no such cases have yet been reported by customers.
A statement from Audi reads: “Audi UK is aware of an issue involving a component within the charging system on a small number of Audi e-trons that have been delivered to customers.
“We are currently in the process of contacting these owners to recall their vehicle and rectify the issue.
“A total of 31 affected cars are currently in circulation with customers in the UK, and we’re in the process of contacting all these owners to ask them to make an appointment to have the necessary remedial work carried out. Owners will of course be offered a temporary replacement vehicle by Audi UK.”
