Starter motor and alternator specialist, Autoelectro has announced a significant further investment in its test equipment with the arrival of a new test bench.
The new bench, supplied by Motoplat CV, will help to further expand Autoelectro’s range of start motors and alternators with “later technology part numbers” and offer its customers technical support via web, chat or by phone.
An Autoelectro spokesperson said: “This new test bench will enable Autoelectro to further support their customers and the installer with better technical understanding of complex new technology including belted starter generator (BSG) type rotating electrics that act as a combined alternator and starter motor and also 48V tech.”

Since 1986 Autoelectro has continuously invested in test equipment, range development.
Motoplat CV have a long history in test equipment and today supply test benches to original equipment vehicle manufacturers for end of line testing.
The firm consulted with Autoelectro to understand the technical challenges the market faces in this product sector and, as a result, Autoelectro are taking ownership of one of the first three benches released worldwide, bespoke to their specification.
The new machine joins DV Electronics test benches that are also employed for 100 per cent end of line testing.
The spokesperson added: “With more part number proliferation in the aftermarket, continuous investment in test equipment is required to ensure that the products supplied are fully tested to OE specification before use.
“On the BSG type products some competitors can only test the charging alternator function, whereas with Autoelectro a comprehensive full test including the stop/start function is also fully tested, with a report.”
Autoelectro is thought to be the largest independent rotating electrics remanufacturer and supplier in the UK.
It holds over 4000 stocked part numbers covering over 54,000 vehicle applications for starter motors and alternators.
