Technology streamlines MOT testing for Brayleys Cars

Retail group Brayleys Cars has successfully improved its MOT testing standards and staff training through the use of Autotech Training’s MOTsafe platform.

Operating across 19 UK sites, Brayleys recognised the need to manage MOT data effectively, especially as they planned further growth. Autotech’s MOTsafe platform provided a comprehensive overview of MOT data across all locations, allowing for increased efficiency and proactive compliance measures.

Prior to MOTsafe, Brayleys lacked real-time data analysis, leaving them vulnerable to oversights. MOTsafe quickly identified anomalies like duplicate tests, enabling Brayleys to qukckly address the issue and demonstrate responsiveness to the DVSA.

The platform also allows for analysis of key metrics like retest rates and PRS rates, highlighting areas where staff might require further training. With Autotech’s support, Brayleys implemented targeted training sessions to ensure their testers remain compliant and skilled.

MOTsafe’s ability to centralise data from multiple sites allows Brayleys to identify potential compliance issues before they escalate. This proactive approach helps to avoid potential DVSA sanctions and even site closures.

“Working with Autotech Training has significantly improved the efficiency of our MOT business,” comments Liam Perricone, Divisional Aftersales Manager at Brayleys. “As a business which is growing, we recognised that our liability grows too. It takes just one person to make a mistake and our business would be at risk. There is no room for error, and safeguarding compliance and the reputation of our business is paramount.

Rob Walsh, Head of MOT for Autotech Training, comments: “We understand the critical importance of MOT compliance in ensuring road safety. Through MOTsafe, we have empowered Brayleys by equipping them with a simple-to-use digital tool to ensure they stay ahead of DVSA regulations, identify potential issues, and maintain the highest standards of MOT testing.”

Brayley’s James Darby adds: “The insights of MOTsafe has not only enabled us to elevate our standards and improve efficiency but also led us to foster a culture of ongoing improvement. Through Rob and the Autotech Training team, we have carried out several training sessions with our testers which has boosted their skills and job satisfaction.”
