BM Catalysts has introduced its new range of Gasoline Particulate Filters (GPFs). This innovative product line aims to help the aftermarket to reduce vehicle emissions, with the initial launch including six GPF part numbers catering to over 2.3 million vehicles.
In addition to the GPFs, BM Catalysts is also unveiling four new catalytic converter references and 10 new pressure pipes in a bid to better serve the market.
GPFs, also known as PPFs (petrol particulate filters) or OPFs (otto particulate filters), are emissions control devices designed to minimise particulate emissions from gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines. Like diesel particulate filters (DPFs), GPFs feature a wall-flow honeycomb structure made from ceramic cordierite, which is designed to filter the finer particulates in petrol exhaust gases.
Reducing vehicle CO2 emissions has led to the replacement of traditional port fuel injection (PFI) petrol engines with more fuel-efficient GDI engines. But GDI engines can produce particulate matter due to shorter air or fuel mixing times, which GPFs filter out.
Holly Brailsford, Marketing Manager at BM Catalysts, said:
“Our product development team is constantly assessing the market to ensure customers have access to the very latest technologies… We are excited to introduce our new GPF range, further demonstrating our commitment to reducing emissions and supporting the industry in a bid to offer cleaner aftermarket solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market.”
