BM Catalysts is rallying the automotive aftermarket to join forces in the fight against harmful emissions this Clean Air Day, 20 June. With a commitment to air quality, BM Catalysts highlights the significance of top-tier emissions control devices and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies aimed at reducing vehicle emissions.
Recent expansions to BM Catalysts’ product range include Gasoline Particulate Filters (GPFs) and enhancements to the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) lineup. The GPF range covers over 2.3 million vehicles with six part numbers, ensuring compliance with particulate number (PN) emissions standards for gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines. As the industry shifts toward more fuel-efficient GDI engines, GPFs play a vital role in filtering out particulate matter and curbing overall emissions.
SCR technology also remains essential for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in diesel engines. By working with diesel exhaust fluids like AdBlue, SCR achieves up to 90% NOx reduction. The increasing prevalence of SCRs in Euro 6 vehicles underscores the aftermarket’s responsibility to support these critical technologies.
Mark Blinston, BM Catalysts’ Commercial Director, said: “Our product development team is constantly assessing the market to ensure customers have access to the latest emissions control technologies. It’s crucial that we’re working together towards global initiatives to ensure a cleaner future.”
“It’s imperative that the automotive aftermarket comes together and plays its part to ensure that the emissions control devices being supplied and fitted are legal. BM Catalysts is working with distributors and workshops to ensure the industry is better informed over new technologies and type approval legislation, and the important role they can play in its enforcement.
We’ve invested considerable resource into developing our e-learning platform, BM Garage Pro, for example to help support this.”
To ensure legal compliance, BM Catalysts works with distributors and workshops, educating the industry on new technologies and type approval legislation. Their e-learning platform, BM Garage Pro, further supports informed decision-making.
