Castrol e-Fluids used by more than half of vehicle manufacturers

Using the expertise gained from over a century in the automotive lubricants sector, Castrol is working to support the automotive industry as it accelerates towards mainstream adoption of EVs.

Castrol has developed fluids for hybrid and fully electric mobility solutions, specifically designed to improve the efficiency and performance of electric vehicles.

Over half of the world’s major vehicle manufacturers now use Castrol e-Fluids as part of their factory fill.

Castrol Transmission e-Fluids help extend the life of the drivetrain system as it helps the e-motor run cooler enabling it to operate at high efficiency.

Castrol Battery Coolant E-Fluids keep batteries running cooler, even in extreme conditions, to maintain optimal performance.

A Castrol spokesperson said: “Specialist greases are required for the increasing number of on-board electric motors that perform a wide range of duties, from providing motive power to supporting the vehicle’s ancillary services.”

Castrol supports leading e-motorsport teams with e-Fluids for the most demanding electric vehicle racing, including the Panasonic Jaguar Racing Formula E Team.

The company is also an official partner of the Volkswagen ID.R team, responsible for producing the car which broke the Tianmen Mountain climb world record and in 2019 broke a 20-year-old record at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb.
