Mobile mechanic increases monthly income by 25 per cent through online platform

Having joined ClickMechanic just 10 months ago, Brad Reynolds of BPR Mobile Technician has found success on the car repair platform, generating an additional 25 per cent over his usual monthly income.

Brad said: “Closer to the end of 2020, when garages were just starting to open up, a lot of garages I knew complained about shortage of work.

“I realised that this would be the perfect opportunity to explore an online platform to really get my business out there.”

The pandemic prompted independent businesses to focus on their online presence to find new customers.

With the drastic increase in online usage after the 2020 lockdown, the number of mechanics signing up to the ClickMechanic online platform increased by over 50 per cent compared to 2019.

Brad added: “After having researched and trying several car repair marketplaces, I narrowed my choice to ClickMechanic.

“I preferred ClickMechanic over the others as they had the simplest and most straightforward system to work with.

“More importantly, the continuous support from their team helped me gain more confidence in the platform.”

Brad started his career as a mechanic at a garage that specialised in tuning and upgrading vehicles.

As he later moved to a service center, he discovered his passion for diagnostics.

Reynolds currently runs his independent business in Grantham, England, and specialises in diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.

“I can recommend joining ClickMechanic, it has been an excellent business decision for my independent company.

“The best way I can describe my experience with the platform is that I feel like we’re growing together, which is the ultimate goal for every business.

As a result of the bookings on the app, Brad now earns an additional 25 per cent income every month.

That is a right load of w@nk. Have a look, you could potentially get a situation
To look at a nissan note airbag light flashing, you have driven 60 miles to the middle of nowhere, chucking down with rain, then open your van door to find a pot of screws fall out onto customers fresh gravel drive.

Customer says light been on 8 months now failed mot & has ran out

You plug computer in, no fault, in history record, drivers squib, you then
Find you have no idea who the nearest dealership is.

You get your phone out, search the imi Professional Register for that area for
Main dealership with imi professionals there.

You enter the location where you are comes up (if your lucky), you click on it
No opening hours, no website, no phone numbers. You click deeper
The imi member is a salesperson.

So you ditch that, tweet them #t@ssers

You get correct phone number from Nelson Mandella website, you ring the number, robot answers the call “we are recording this call”, but it’s eating your free minutes your running out of. No one actually answers the call.

You give up, ring the sister branch in town 50 miles away, they answer
And can dail into stock computer, no squib in stock £180+VAT. Won’t deliver to domestic house. Takes 10 days to come from Germany, if the frogs not blocking the tunnel.

You tell person to save quote under reg. you inform the customer the price and customer says “too much, I don’t want to pay that much, take the bulb out”

The customer only wants to pay the price of local garage who are busy for a week.

You end up doing the job, you go back 12 days later because no lorry drivers to get part across the country.

Again raining, you get there, steering wheel nut been off before and got loads
Of locktight on the threads. You end up asking the customer for help, you end up unbolting a scaffold pole from a garden feature to give you leverage
Which shears the end of your tool off & cracks windscreen in mot failure zone.

You drive off & get a flat 5 miles up the road, from one of your own screws you missed in the gravel

Not worth the effort, customer gives 3 stars because you had to cone back to finish the job, meaning they missed the dfs sale.
