After 16 ultra-competitive heats held at circuits throughout the UK and Ireland, the 20 finalists competed in the grand final at Wilton Mill on the 4th May.
The series, which began in September 2023, saw DENSO customers across the country demonstrating their competitive spirits in a bid to secure the DENSO crown.
Kevin Peacocke, DENSO’s UK and Eire Sales Manager, said:
“Thankfully, unlike last year, we had a dry circuit and warm and sunny conditions for this year’s final. We were also able to add an extra dimension to the proceedings with the presence of the DENSO Stig, who provided the finalists with a little extra guidance and a whole heap of motivation to claim the top spot and be crowned the 2024 DENSO Go Karting champion.”
The 20 drivers raced the Grand Prix-International course, a circuit voted the UK’s best karting track and regularly used by professional drivers and F1 stars like David Coultard and Toto Wolf.
Kevin continued:
“As with every competition, however, there can only be one winner and this year it was Brett Ward, who deservedly took the top honour. So, many congratulations to Brett, and to Cameron Belt and Michael Jackson, who finished second and third respectively, but also to all the finalists and to the Stig who, together, made this a hugely enjoyable event, with great camaraderie, alongside that competitive edge.”
The final concluded with celebrations at the local Turtle Bay restaurant, where discussions inevitably turned to the 2025 championship, set to kick off in the autumn.
