Piloted by British riders, Luke Stapleford and Bradley Ray, the Suzuki GSX-R1000R, powered by its Yoshimura-tuned engine, has been brought to life by DENSO’s Iridium Power spark plugs.

DENSO is also supporting Buildbase Suzuki rider, Richard Cooper, in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

DENSO is a brand that has been immersed in motorsport for decades, both on two and four wheels, with one of its most recent and significant victories coming in 2018, playing a pivotal role as technical partner of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing in the Le Mans 24-Hour race, won by two-time F1 World Champion, Fernando Alonso, and former F1 drivers, Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima.

This latest partnership, therefore, represents another opportunity for DENSO to showcase its motorsport pedigree and, specifically, the performance and reliability of its Iridium Power spark plugs, which are available in the aftermarket and the ultimate solution for high-performance applications.

Buildbase Suzuki team manager, Steve Hicken, said: “Firstly, in DENSO, we’re delighted to welcome such an iconic brand on-board. DENSO has a long-standing relationship with the Yoshimura Japan motorcycling team, so it brings everything together for us.

“We know from working alongside Yoshimura how good the DENSO product is, and it can only help towards our goal of challenging for the British Superbike and National Superstock championships this season.”

DENSO aftermarket marketing manager, Fatiha Laauich, added: “We are really proud to support the Buildbase Suzuki Team.

“This is the perfect opportunity to showcase our motorcycle spark plug range and demonstrate DENSO quality in the harshest racing conditions. We wish the team a victorious season to come.”

The 12-round season began this weekend at Silverstone, with Stapleford enjoying two top-10 finishes (fifth and seventh-places), while Ray overcame a challenging race one to earn a 10th place finish in race two.

Superstock 1000 rider, Cooper, meanwhile, won two of three Superstock 1000 races and clinched a podium place in the final race.

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship season continues at Oulton Park between the 4th and 6th May.
