Hundreds of aftermarket professionals attended the second annual 1TEC Auto Hub Connect conference at Silverstone on 3 Apri. The event focused on community, collaboration, and innovation within the automotive aftermarket.
The conference commenced with presentations from LKQ Europe President Andy Hamilton, Head of Innovation Dr Christoph Schön, and GIPA UK Director Quentin Le Hetet, who discussed current industry challenges, regulatory developments, and key innovations shaping the sector.
Attendees also heard from various speakers within the 1TEC Auto Hub network. Tim Guidotti of Ferdotti Motor Services outlined opportunities in fleet work, while Steve Chambers and Kyle Berry from The MINI Repair Shop demonstrated effective marketing strategies for customer engagement and retention.
The event concluded with the inaugural 1TEC Auto Hub Awards, recognising achievements within the network. Winners included Williams Garage Ltd for their Training and Development Programme and Roy H G Tolley Ltd for the ‘1TEC Auto Hub Green Garage’ category. Attendees also contributed over £14,000 to automotive charity partner Ben.
Louise Davies, Head of Concepts at LKQ Euro Car Parts, described the event as a successful celebration of innovation, community, and collaboration within the 1TEC Auto Hub network. She expressed enthusiasm for future growth and building upon the connections made at the event.
Launched in July 2023 by LKQ Euro Car Parts in collaboration with MPM Oil, Pagid, Schaeffler, Shell, Valeo, VARTA, and ZF Aftermarket, 1TEC Auto Hub aims to support industry professionals in navigating the evolving automotive landscape. Members benefit from technical and diagnostic data, marketing materials, and business support.
