LKQ, owners of Euro Car Parts, has acquired iris coatings along with five of its UK members involved in distribution of automotive paint and bodyshop supplies.
The purchase, which involves 26 locations nationwide, is immediately effective. It’s the latest step in a rapidly unfolding accident repair plan which has already seen Euro Car Parts launch a new crash repair parts programme in March 2012. This was followed up with the purchase of collision repair distribution and service specialists Autoclimate in February. The latest move mirrors the 2011 US purchase by LKQ of AkzoNobel Coatings 40 site U.S. paint distribution business.
‘These acquisitions represent an important step to enabling the collision repair industry, insurance companies and consumers to receive quality products and exceptional service at competitive prices’, said Sukhpal Singh MD of ECP and LKQ Europe.
The business is now promising to revolutionise the refinish market on ‘price, delivery, quality and support’. JCA’s Richard Steer has been appointed managing director of LKQ Euro Paint & Refinish. Sinemaster MD Mark Leeming and Justin Elliot from MKPE join the LKQ Euro team as directors of Paint & Refinish.
