Euro Car Parts updates garage management system for efficiency and productivity gains

As part of its ongoing efforts to support the independent aftermarket through the coronavirus pandemic and beyond, LKQ Euro Car Parts has unveiled updates to its cloud-based garage management software (GMS), CarSys.

Launched last year and exclusively available to customers of LKQ Euro Car Parts, CarSys is a user-friendly software platform that allows garages to maximise billable time, streamline the way they work and enhance the customer experience they offer.

As well as using Haynes Pro data to calculate prices and schedule jobs in the workshop, technicians can now access a vehicle’s engine oil and spark plug quantities via a simple VRM lookup – helping them order the right parts, faster.

To help garages manage payments more efficiently and deliver a professional customer experience, CarSys also now includes the option for both parties to view a job’s payment breakdown, along with a record of which payments have been taken and what is still owed.

Opinion: Garages need to prioritise digital transformation

And in addition to Sage and QuickBooks, the software can also now sync with leading accounting solution Xero.

Anthony McAteer, trading director SMR at LKQ Euro Car Parts said: “Despite the challenges presented by the latest lockdown restrictions, motorists are still able to complete their MOTs – and the cold weather means demand is likely for other service and repair work, too.

“It’s important for garages to stay up to date with their customers’ service histories and proactively invite them to bring in their vehicles when they’re due.

“At the same time, proactive workload management is key to ensuring the right level of resource in the workshop.

“Digital garage management solutions have an important role to play as workshops navigate the next few months, and longer-term, will help them to compete with the dealerships, by making their operations as efficient and effective as possible.”

For £49.99 per month, garages can access CarSys for an unlimited number of users.

Other features include a direct link to the full LKQ Euro Car Parts catalogue, facilitating 24/7 online parts look up and quick ordering through a nominated branch.

Using a cloud-based solution means there is no need for installation, and all information is saved securely and automatically.

The system is accessed through the CarSys website and supported by a mobile app, meaning technicians can dip in and out between jobs.
