More than 450 courses to be held at 20 training centres nationwide in 2021

LKQ Euro Car Parts announces “busiest training schedule ever”

LKQ Euro Car Parts has released its 2021 course schedule for AutoEducation Academy.

The schedule includes more hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) course dates than ever before, and will help to bring more than 550 new hybrid-trained technicians up to level three standard, while upskilling another 670 to level four.

Other courses include the popular ‘road to success’ diagnostics programme, business support and customer service skills, and a range of MOT tester, manager, CPD and level three certification training.

Adam White, workshop solutions director at LKQ Euro Car Parts, said: “Our focus is on helping independent garages run successful, competitive businesses, now and in the future.

“That means ensuring they’ve got the knowledge and skills to work with the latest vehicles, while delivering a professional customer experience and meeting industry requirements.

“This year has presented a series of challenges and opportunities for the independent aftermarket – our customers are taking advantage of the new MOT demand curve to bring in as much business as possible, after many had to close their doors in lockdown.

“We look forward to helping them build on that momentum in 2021.”

As demand for the services of independent garages peaks in the coming weeks, with a backlog of overdue MOTs to get through, LKQ Euro Car Parts customers have expressed a short-term preference to focus only on business-critical training, to reduce the need for travel and to maximise chargeable time in the workshop.

All scheduled MOT and hybrid and EV maintenance courses will continue to take place throughout the remainder of this year.

Customers booked onto courses covering other topics, considered by garages to be lower priority in the current climate, are being offered new dates from the 2021 schedule.

Adam White added: “We’ve made this change to help our customers achieve the right balance between keeping non-essential travel to a minimum – for safety reasons and so that they can operate at full capacity – and ensuring they’ve still got access to the training and resources that are most important to their businesses.

“MOT training is an obvious priority for garages right now, and longer-term, many don’t want to put off upskilling their teams to service and repair the growing number of hybrids and EVs on our roads.”

More than 50 hybrid and EV courses and 50 MOT-related courses are available to book through the LKQ Euro Car Parts AutoEducation Academy, between now and the end of December.

LKQ Euro Car Parts say full risk assessments have been carried out at all training centres, with all the necessary health, safety and hygiene measures in place to protect everyone in attendance.

Customers with gold AutoEducation Academy memberships have been given automatic nine-month extensions for free, to cover the period in 2020 when changes have been made to the schedule, and so they can take full advantage of what’s on offer in 2021.

Signing up for AutoEducation is free and courses can be completed and paid for on a one-off basis, or unlimited access with a 12-month gold membership for £1,499.
