LKQ Euro Car Parts has launched a more sustainable packaging solution for its MPM range of engine oils. The new ‘Bag in a Box’ packaging replaces traditional plastic containers with a cardboard outer box and a reusable inner bag.
This innovative approach aims to reduce plastic waste by up to 40,000 kilograms per year. The cardboard boxes are made from sustainable materials and can be easily recycled. Once the oil is used, the inner bag can be removed, and the cardboard box can be compressed for efficient recycling.
Colin Cottrell, Group Marketing Director at LKQ UK & Ireland, said: “We’re constantly looking for ways to expand our range and increase flexibility for our customers, while minimising our collective impact on the environment.
“We’re proud that our Bag in a Box innovation – developed with our partners at Emotive – means customers can access their favourite MPM oils in a more sustainable way. We’ve prioritised sustainability at all levels of the technology’s development, from its outer shell to its leak-proof faucet.”
The MPM range of engine oils is a popular choice for garages and workshops across the UK. By offering this sustainable packaging option, LKQ Euro Car Parts is demonstrating its commitment to both environmental responsibility and customer satisfaction.
