Pagid and Euro Car Parts support workshops during “busiest-ever” MOT season

Increased training support and biggest-ever Pagid braking promotion set to support test stations

Pagid and Euro Car Parts support workshops during “busiest-ever” MOT season
Pagid and Euro Car Parts are helping UK garages and workshops make the most of one of the busiest ‘MOT seasons’ of recent years.

According to the DVSA, some 31 million MOT tests were carried out in 2018 and following the highest ever number of new car registrations in 2016 where 2.7 new cars were registered, the number of MOTs being carried out in 2019 is expected to hit an all-time high.

Pagid and Euro Car Parts’ technical services team has increased in size, now comprising seven field-based braking specialists, who are all fully qualified mechanics and experts on braking and the Pagid brand.

The team is on hand to visit customers and advise on best practice fitment, new product development and new Pagid releases, as well as delivering training.

Through Euro Car Parts’ Auto Education Academy, almost 400 mechanics have completed the Pagid Professional Academy training course over the last three years.

Combining background theory and practical, hands-on skills training, the course is designed to benefit workshop technicians at all levels.

The IMI (QAP) Quality Assured Programme, available at 30 locations across the UK, covers brake pads, discs, shoes and drums, hydraulic operating systems, servo operation, brake fluid and anti-lock systems.

For some major automotive groups, it has become the ‘benchmark’ training programme for their newly appointed technicians.

Phil Woodcock, Pagid key account manager for UK and Eire, said: “Braking is a significant part of any garage or workshop’s business yet braking technologies and component tolerances have changed dramatically over the years, so it’s important that technicians and mechanics stay on top of the latest developments coming into the market.”

Defective brakes were the leading contributory factor – where a vehicle defect was selected –  in all road accidents in Great Britain from 2013 to 2017, according to Department for Transport data, highlighting the need for regular and thorough brake servicing and maintenance, and underlining the importance of only ever fitting OE quality brakes from an approved OE manufacturer.

Colin Cottrell, central operations director at Euro Car Parts, said: “Pagid and Euro Car Parts are committed to delivering the best-quality product, supported by first-class training and unrivalled technical support in order to help our customers deliver the highest standards of brake fitment and servicing to their customers.”

With cover for 99% of vehicle makes and models, and excellent availability, service and support, Pagid delivers a complete, OE-approved braking solution.

Pagid and Euro Car Parts, which are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their successful partnership this year have also joined forces on a ‘free braking giveaway’: until the end of October they are offering garages and workshops the opportunity to win free braking products and consumables for one month and the chance to win an exhilarating Palmer Sport track day.

Every £250 spent on any Pagid braking products bought through Euro Car Parts earns one entry into a prize draw to win one of these prizes.
