Gates belt-in-oil drive selected as an OE part manufacturer by Ford
Gates has gained OE manufacturer approval from Ford.

Gates has introduced a range of Belt-in-Oil (BiO) drive belts for oil pump and cam belt drives compatible with a variety of Fords, Volkswagens, SEATs, Skodas and Audis.

The first five part numbers will be launched before the end of March, with more scheduled for later this year – including BiO kits.

The announcement coincides with news that the drive system manufacturer’s BiO belt technology has been selected as original equipment to deliver the oil pump lubricating function on the latest enhanced versions of Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo engines.

Gates’ BiO belt design reduces friction and makes significant contributions towards the overall reduction of vehicle weight, with consequent reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The new BiO aftermarket range will be included as an extension of the Gates PowerGrip® timing belt range.

Garages can purchase belt parts equipped with oil pump drive belts

Three of the new aftermarket BiO belt part numbers cover increasing numbers of Ford and VW applications equipped with oil pump drive belts.

T357HOB part numbers are suitable for Ford 1.0L Ecoboost models such as the Focus, the C-Max and the Fiesta.

T351HOB part numbers are suitable for VW 1.6L and 2.0L engines in models such as Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon.

T358HOB part numbers are suitable for models such as the Audi A1, the Fabia and Superb models under the Skoda marque, as well as the Volkswagen Polo and Seat Ibiza.

T354HOB and T539HOB part numbers for applications with cam belt drives are suitable for Ford 1.0L EcoBoost models.
