Ivor Searle, a leading automotive remanufacturer, has launched an E-catalogue facility on its website, believed to be the first in the world capable of looking up vehicle registrations from multiple countries. This development follows a record 12-month trading period, with an 8% increase on its 2024 turnover.
Developed over nearly a year, the new E-CAT system is linked to the global TecDoc aftermarket database. This allows Ivor Searle’s international customers, particularly those in France, Italy, and Spain, to enter vehicle registration details to identify correct product codes and check stock availability for remanufactured engines. Ivor Searle currently produces around 600 engines per month, driven by range expansion and increased EU demand.
David Eszenyi, Commercial Director at Ivor Searle, commented on the launch: “As an industry leader, Ivor Searle continues to innovate so we can support a wider aftermarket community both in the UK and internationally. The launch of our cutting-edge E-CAT facility is a major step forward for our business, which will celebrate 80 years in 2026.” He added that rising vehicle ownership costs and infrastructure challenges related to EV transition mean consumers are retaining vehicles longer. Exports of remanufactured engines now account for almost 20% of annual turnover, with further growth anticipated.
The company has also seen increased demand for its Customer Own Unit (COU) engine remanufacturing service, especially for late-model and hybrid engines where core availability is limited. Eszenyi attributes this to extended vehicle replacement cycles and longer leasing terms, noting increased enquiries from leasing companies for late-model replacement engines and hybrid powertrains for vehicles no longer under OEM warranty. This service addresses the challenge of sourcing core units for newer vehicles where OEM parts supply is restricted.
