Around forty regional representatives of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) recently headed to Cheadle, as Klarius Products welcomed visitors to its IMI opening evening and seminar.
Attendees had the chance to view emission control component manufacturing, the automotive aerosol and fluids production facility, KMT’s machine-tool design and build engineering works, plus, Autologistiks, the in-house logistics operation that provides the group with an international next day delivery service.
As well as the insight provided by experts associated with the business units, a raffle was held in support of Ben, the automotive self-help charity focussed on preserving financial, mental and social wellbeing in the industry.
Entrants had the chance to win a set of SW-STAHL tools among other raffle prizes, with Klarius adding to the charitable donation.
The IMI holds monthly regional seminars for its members and leading automotive firms are invited to present their latest technologies, techniques and issues affecting the industry.
Klarius was selected by the IMI for its diversified manufacturing operations.
The business also recently passed an IMI quality audit.
Klarius is an IMI approved training centre, delivering emission control specific quality assured training programs (QAP’s) on-site or at chosen locations, providing apprentices, students and professional technicians with the latest diagnostic and technical information regarding vehicle emission control systems.
Phil Bateman, IMI Member said: “I can say without a doubt that everyone enjoyed the visit very much and I think we will be speaking ‘Klarius’ from now on.
“It’s great for people who have not ventured into manufacturing operations in the past to see what goes in to making the parts that are delivered to the motor factor or workshop. Many thanks for a tremendous evening.”
Andy Foot, general manager at EMISSCO which includes the aerosol division, said: “Everyone was very interested in our recently installed production line, as well as how aerosol works and the manufacturing process behind it.
“We are now delivering a range of products including everything from DPF system cleaner to maintenance spray. Our flexibility means we can produce small or large batches while offering next day delivery.”
Adrian Degg, technical director at KMT said: “We were able to showcase the machine tool build, refurbishment and production equipment services we provide to the automotive, rail and other industrial sectors.
“It was great to present the range of work we can carry out for large manufacturers.”
