Laser Tools launches new Universal Cooling System Vacuum Refill Kit

As electric and hybrid vehicles become more prevalent, the need for specialised servicing equipment grows. Laser Tools has introduced its new Cooling System Vacuum Refill Kit (part number 9116), a comprehensive solution designed for quickly and safely refilling cooling systems across EVs, hybrids, and traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, without the risk of airlocks.

Modern EV and hybrid powertrains feature intricate cooling circuits that are highly sensitive to airlocks, which can lead to performance issues or component damage. The 9116 kit provides a professional-grade, vacuum-fill method, helping to ensure a completely air-free refill every time.

The kit includes a range of current EV-specific cap adaptors for applications such as Fiat, MG, Renault, and Tesla. It also integrates with Laser Tools’ existing 5614 cooling system pressure test kit cap set. The 9116 operates via a new venturi-style vacuum pump, allowing technicians to draw a vacuum through any Laser Tools screw-on cap and then refill the system under negative pressure.

Whether servicing new EVs or conventional ICE cooling systems, the 9116 aims to assist technicians in meeting modern demands efficiently.

Key features include:

  • Designed for airlock-free refilling across EV, hybrid, and ICE vehicles.
  • Compatible with Laser screw-on type cooling cap adaptors (including Part Nos. 5614, 5615, 8027, 7781, and 8106).
  • Supplied with dedicated EV cap adaptors for Fiat, MG, Renault, and Tesla.
  • Air-operated venturi vacuum pump for efficient vacuum generation.
  • Vacuum fill method helps ensure a complete fill with no trapped air, as recommended by many OEMs.
  • EV technicians should always follow manufacturer-specific guidance for electric on-board cooling pump activation during refill.

The kit is available now from Laser Tools stockists and online retailers.
