Dynamic driving and two well-prepared cars allowed Ayumu Iwasa (Japan) to qualify in second place on a wet track.
From sixth place on the grid, Roy Nissany (Israel) continually threatened the leaders and finished a creditable fourth in Saturday’s shorter Sprint Race (120 km or 45 minutes).
Rookie Iwasa put in a mature performance to claim fifth place in Sunday’s Feature Race (170 kilometres or 60 minutes).
Both cars are prepared for the races with a range of Lucas Oil products.
These include Deep Clean Fuel System Cleaner, Brake Cleaner, White Lithium Grease and Assembly Lube.
They race on L11 Racing Gear Oil and 80w90 Gearbox Oil and rely on Safeguard Ethanol Fuel Conditioner to protect the fuel system.
”The big highlights of the weekend were Iwasa’s qualification in 2nd, followed by Nissany’s move from 6th to 1st before turn 1 in the Feature Race,” says Dan Morgan, sales and operations director for Lucas Oil Products (UK).
Iwasa is currently ninth in the Drivers’ Championship, with Nissany in 14th position.
The DAMS team is seventh overall.
The teams now move on to Barcelona (22-22 May) for Round 4.
