Lucas Oil Scores Points in F2 and F4
ADAC Formula 4, Lausitzring, 31. July - 02. August 2020, Van Amersfoort Racing.

A reality check, followed by misfortune that denied a win in F2 might have left a hint of disappointment about the weekend’s racing, but a double podium in F4 added a shine as bright as a Slick Mist polish for the Lucas Oil cars this weekend.

An inconclusive Covid-19 test ruled Dan Ticktum of the DAMS Team out of the F2 practice session and hindered his qualifying efforts. Despite the setback, he returned to secure sixth place in the Feature Race. An unlucky contact forced a premature end after a great start had secured the early lead in the Sprint Race. He’s definitely one of the drivers to beat at Monza in Italy next week (4-6 September).

Fifteen-year-old Jak Crawford was the man among the juniors to beat at Imola, in Italy this week. His #52 Red Bull Van Amersfoort Racing car secured a double podium in the Italian F4 programme and – starting from Pole Position in Race Three – he was looking good for another before a slight shunt caused brakes failure and forced his retirement from the race.

He returns to ADAC Formel 4 racing at the Hockenheimring in Germany (18-20 September).

The drivers are driving well and the cars have certainly got the pace to compete.

“A little extra luck next time out is all they seem to need,” said Dan Morgan, Director of Sales & Operations at Lucas Oil Products.
