Garage proprietors joined technical solutions manager Charlie Waller on the Lucas Oil stand at the GroupAuto conference and exhibition in Liverpool, last week.
They were there to hear more about the latest engine oil specifications and to learn more about developments in additive technology.
The US manufacturer’s message for garage mechanics was that replacing parts is not the only solution when the performance begins to fail.
Problem solving additives can provide a solution: “Dry spots or leaks on a power steering column don’t automatically mean the steering rack must be replaced,” Charlie said.
“There may be a cost effective additive approach.
“Similarly, if a vehicle is just below the MOT emissions borderline, an additive solution could be the key to a more straightforward pass.”
The well-attended two day show annual event enables proprietors from motor factors and garages from the GroupAuto network to meet their suppliers in an informal atmosphere.
