Gary will be driving the Mintex liveried car, number 44, and is a hot favourite to take the 2021 Focus Cup Championship title.

For more than 100 years Mintex has consistently developed a commitment to braking safety.

From Superminis to SUVs, Mintex is the name behind the brakes keeping families and motorsport champions safe every day.

Richard Barton, category manager for Mintex Racing, said: “All cars in the Focus Cup are identical in performance ability to guarantee the driver’s skill is at the heart of this championship.

“This means the cars require a reliable friction material that meets the strict entry rules.

“This is where Mintex comes in.

“Our history in braking safety offers drivers peace of mind when it comes to reliable stopping power, which is why Mintex is renowned in motorsport for helping racing greats brake to success.”

The much-anticipated 2021 Focus Cup Championship season began on 24th April at Donington Park, where Mitchell and the Mintex branded car came in second.

Round two was held at Silverstone on 15th May and will be followed by Round 3 at Castle Combe on 12th June and Cadwell Park for Round 4 on 10th July.

Round 5 kicks off on 24th July at Oulton Park, then Croft Circuit for Round 6 on 21st August, followed by Rounds 7 & 8 at Brands Hatch on 18th and 19th September.

The season finishes back at Donington Park for the last laps on 30th October.

Simon Walton, Director Focus Cup, said: “I have worked with Mintex for some years now, aiding them with development, so it is great to have support from such a big brand.

“They are synonymous with safe braking and racing, so we know they bring trustworthy braking products to the motorsport industry.

“It’s a great partnership, we worked together and tested various compounds to come up with the optimum pad for our Championship. It’s also great to be back on the racetrack after a challenging 2020.”

The Focus Cup Championship 2021 will be televised for the first time this year on Amazon Prime and via the Focus Cup Racing social media channels.
