ERA Motorsport, a rapidly growing historic race preparation company, is gearing up for the prestigious Goodwood Revival with a strong showing of cars and continued support from lubricant partner Motul.
ERA, based in Wiltshire, has established itself as a leader in preparing and running historic racing vehicles. Their diverse fleet includes everything from classic Aston Martins and Plymouth Barracudas to iconic Shadow Can-Am cars and Formula 1 machines.
Motul’s Partnership and visibility
Motul’s lubricants and fluids play a key role in ERA’s operations. From race car preparation and running to machine shop applications, Motul products are utilised throughout.
“Motul is a great fit for our diverse range of vehicles,” says Andy Wait, Motul UK Sales and Marketing Manager. “Their presence is visible across the board, from car branding and workshop products to the iconic Motul logo on our transporter.”
ERA at Goodwood Revival
The team will showcase four vehicles at Goodwood: the iconic Aston Martin DB4 GT, a Plymouth Barracuda, the unique Gilby F1 car, and their distinctive green Thames workshop van.
This follows a busy season at other events, where ERA displayed a wider selection of cars like the Rover SD1, Lola T70, and even a 2009 Le Mans racer.
Beyond racing: Nurturing the future
ERA’s growth extends beyond racing itself. They’ve launched an academy to train the next generation of historic race car restorers and engineers.
“Experience on the workshop floor is invaluable,” says Mark Bailey, head tutor at the ERA academy. “We’re delighted to help nurture future talent, echoing Motul’s own commitment through their Corazon Foundation projects.”
Motul’s presence at Goodwood
Beyond supporting ERA and other teams, Motul will be a major presence at the Revival itself. Their branding will be prominent around the circuit, and they’ll sponsor the popular St Mary’s Trophy Classic Saloon Car race.
They’ll also return with their free Mobile Laboratory, allowing competitors to check the health of their engines and transmissions.
“The Goodwood Revival is a unique event, and we’re proud to be part of it,” concludes Andy Wait. “Our mobile lab helps ensure safe racing and prevent damage to these historic treasures.”
