Three NGK-sponsored stars made the semi-final stage at the Prague FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic which was won by home favourite Martin Vaculik.
Britons Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert plus Sweden’s Freddie Lindgren scored solid points by reaching the semi-final stage but failed to make the final which saw Vaculik finish ahead of Danish racer Leon Madsen in second, Aussie star Jack Holder in third and Poland’s triple Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik in fourth.
Bewley finished in fifth place at the Grand Prix scoring 12 points, one point and one place ahead of Lindgren with Lambert in eighth position on nine points.
However, it was a disappointing night for NGK stablemate and three-time World champion Tai Woffinden who scored just three points in finishing fourteenth.
John Money, who handles Speedway sponsorship on behalf of NGK-brand owner Niterra UK Ltd, said: “Dan, Robert and Freddie all performed well on the night and just missed out on making the final, however it was disappointing for Tai after he won his first race.”
Lindgren sits in second place in the 2023 FIM World Championship with Lambert sixth, Bewley seventh and Woffinden ninth as the SGP series heads to Teterow in Germany next weekend.
